Committee Recruitment

NSOTR is now inviting applications from registrants to serve on a committee of the Regulator. Applications will be accepted until January 16, 2025.

Why apply to serve on a committee?

Committees play an essential role in the regulation of occupational therapy. Serving on a committee of the Regulator is a valuable way to contribute to the development of the profession and the protection of the public. The time commitment varies depending on the committee and the matters that committee is considering. Committee members receive an honorarium and reimbursement for approved expenses related to their service.

What committees are available?

A list of NSOTR’s standing and statutory committees, and a description of the role of each, can be found here.

Committees are organized by area. Committees in the same area may share members. The four areas are:

  • Registration and Licensing
  • Professional Conduct
  • Continuing Competence
  • Professional Practice

How to Apply:

  • Download a copy of the Committee Application Form. This form helps the NSOTR Appointments Committee understand the skills, knowledge, and perspectives a candidate would offer to a committee.
  • Complete the form, including all sections of the Skills Self-Assessment, either digitally or in hard copy.
  • Submit a scanned or electronic copy of the form and any supporting documents via e-mail to info@nsotr.ca before January 16, 2025.

How are committees appointed?

NSOTR uses an intentional approach to Committee selection. It serves the public interest for NSOTR to have diverse Committees with a balance of skills, knowledge, and perspectives.

The NSOTR Appointments Committee reviews applications from all registrants who express interest in serving on a committee of the Regulator. They will make recommendations to the Board on committee appointments based on these applications.
