Module Information

The 2025 National eLearning Module on Advancing Culture, Equity and Justice in Occupational Therapy Practice is now available in both English and French.

  • The national eLearning module was developed in partnership with the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations (ACOTRO) that is comprised of occupational therapy regulatory bodies across Canada. In addition, many other valued partners contributed to this module.
  • The module was developed by occupational therapists…for occupational therapists. Occupational therapists from advisory groups, including those representing Indigenous and other equity-deserving/denied communities, as well as OTs with specific knowledge in culture, equity, and justice, generously contributed their perspectives to shape this module.
  • A diverse group of caregivers and clients that have used occupational therapy services shared their experiences and formed the foundation of the strategies that are presented.
  • The module aims to enhance learning and change as OTs incorporate these practices into their daily work.

All registrants must complete the eLearning Module as part of their Competence Maintenance requirements. The deadline for completion is December 31, 2025.

Tips for Completing the Module

  • Allocate about 1 to 1.5 hours: depending on your learning style and interaction with the reflective questions, the module takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete.
  • Reflective questions: Take time with the reflective questions. They’re meant to help you pause, process, and connect the content to your own practice. Reflect thoughtfully and revisit them as needed. You can input directly on the screen or by downloading/printing the Reflective Question Guide. Your responses are not being stored or collected.
  • Save your progress: you can complete the module in more than one sitting or step away from your computer. The system will automatically save your progress.
